Lyrics – One Fold, One Shepherd

1. I Am a Disciple of Jesus Christ
3 Nephi 5:13-14, 18, 21, 24, 26

Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
I have been called to declare His word among His people,
That they might have everlasting life.

Surely He hath blessed the house of Jacob
And hath been merciful.

And surely, surely, as sure as He lives,
The Lord will gather in all of the ends of the earth.

One Fold, one Shepherd,
One King of Israel.
One God, one people,
One Jesus Christ.

Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
I have been called to declare His word among His people,
That they might have everlasting life.

And then shall they know their Redeemer,
Jesus Christ.

2. Behold, I Come Unto My Own
3 Nephi 1:1, 5, 8-15, 19, 21

Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland,
(Now come, Savior of the gentiles,)
Der Jungfrauen Kind erkannt.
(Recognized as the child of the Virgin,)
Dass sich wundre alle Welt,
(So that all the world is amazed)
Gott solch’ Geburt ihm bestellt.
(God ordained such a birth for Him.)

Behold, I come unto my own
To fulfill all which I made known
And to do the will,
Both of the Father and the Son.

Lob sei Gott dem Vater g’tan,
(Praise be given to God the Father,)
Lob sei Gott sein’m ein gen Sohn,
(Praise be to God His only Son;)
Lob sei Gott dem Heil’gen Geist
(Praise be to God the Holy Ghost)
Immer und in Ewigkeit.
(Forever and always.)

3. God of Abraham
3 Nephi 3:12 -13, 15, 4:1, 7-10, 30

God of Abraham,
God of Isaac, God of Jacob,
You have defended us, delivered us
From war and desolation.
But as sure as ou livest,
Except we all repent
And cry unto the Lord
We will not be delivered
Out of the hands of these our foes,
And so we cry to ee!

God of Abraham,
God of Isaac, God of Jacob,
We prepare ourselves
In the center of our lands
And we put up our prayers
Unto the Lord our God,
That He will deliver us in the time
That our enemies should come down
Against us to battle.

May the God of truth and light
Protect His people with his might
So long as they shall call upon the name of their God.
To darkness we will never yield.
The Lord will be our strength and shield
So long as we shall call upon the name of our God.
Hosanna to our God!

God of Abraham,
God of Isaac, God of Jacob,
Please help us, protect us.
We cannot do this on our own.
And so we cry to ee:
Hosanna to the Lord our God!
Save us now, we pray, O Lord God Almighty.
Call upon the name of our God!

May the God of truth and light
Protect His people with His might
So long as they shall call upon the name of their God.
To darkness we will never yield.
The Lord will be our strength and shield
So long as we shall call upon the name of our God.
Hosanna to our God!
Amen! Hosanna to God!

4. There Arose a Great Storm
3 Nephi 6:4-5, 17; 8:5-11, 16, 19-23

And it came to pass
In the thirty-fourth year,
In the rst month,
On the fourth day of the month,
There arose a great storm,
Such as never had been known in all the land.

Dies iræ, dies illa
(Day of wrath, that day)
Solvet sæclum in favilla.
(Will dissolve the world in ashes.)

And there was also a terrible tempest
And also a terrible thunder
That caused the earth to tremble and buckle and shake
As if it would divide asunder.

Dies iræ, dies illa
(Day of wrath, that day)
Solvet sæclum in favilla.
(Will dissolve the world in ashes.)

Oro supplex et acclinis,
(I meekly and humbly pray,)
Cor contritum quasi cinis,
(My heart is as crushed as the ashes,)
Gere curam mei nis.
(Perform the healing of mine end.)

And the thunderings,
And the lightnings,
And the tempests
And the quakings of the earth
Did cease!

5. How Oft Have I Gathered You
3 Nephi 8:24-25; 9:13; 10:4-6, 8-10

O that we had repented
Before this great and terrible day.
O that we had repented
Before this great and terrible day.
Then our fathers, mothers and children
Would have been spared,
But now they all are gone.
O that we had repented
Before this great and terrible day.

How oft have I gathered you,
How oft have I gathered you
As a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings.
And again, how oft would I have gathered you,
How oft would I have gathered you
As a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings,
And ye would not.

O all ye that are spared
Because ye were more righteous than they,
Will ye not now return and come to me,
And repent of your sins and be converted,
That I may heal you?

How oft has He gathered us,
How oft has He gathered us
As a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings.
And again, how oft will He gather us,
How oft will He gather us
As a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings,
If we repent
And come unto Him.

6. Behold, I Am Jesus Christ
3 Nephi 11:1-17

Behold, my Beloved Son,
In whom I am well pleased,
In whom I have glorifed my name—
Hear ye Him.

Behold, I am Jesus Christ,
Whom the prophets testifed shall come into the world.
I am the light and the life of the world;
And I have drunk out of that bitter cup
Which the Father hath given me,
And hath glorifed the Father
In taking upon me the sins of the world.
Arise and come forth unto me.

Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna to God and the Lamb!
Blessed be the name of the Most High God!

7. This Is My Gospel
3 Nephi 11:31-41; 27: 13-14, 19-20, 27

Behold, I have given you my gospel,
And this is the gospel I have given you—
That I came into the world to do the will of my Father.
My Father sent me that I might be lifted up upon the cross.

Even so should men be lifted up,
Lifted up by the Father to be judged of their works.
And no unclean thing can enter His kingdom,
Therefore nothing entereth into His rest
Save those who have washed their garments in my blood,
Because of their faith,
And repentance of their sins,
And their faithfulness unto the end.

Now this is the commandment:
Repent, all ye ends of the earth,
And come unto me
And be baptized in my name,
That ye may be sanctifed
By the reception of the Holy Ghost,
And become like a little child,
That ye may stand spotless before me at the last day!
O, verily, this is my gospel.

Therefore, what manner of men
Ought ye to be?
Verily I say unto you,
Even as I am.

8. And the Multitude Bear Record
3 Nephi 17:1, 4-7, 9-10, 20-25

And in faith,
All the multitude went forth with their sick.
And they hoped that the pains
In their bodies and their souls
Would be healed.

And He healed them,
And He healed them,
And He healed them, every one.
And the multitude in gratitude fell down.

And the multitude did see
And hear and bear record;
And they know that their record is true,
For all of them did see and hear,
Every man, every woman, every child for himself.

And He asked
That they bring their children forth, and they came,
Tiny hands, trusting eyes, shining faces, eager smiles,
To the Lord.

And He blessed them,
And He blessed them,
And He blessed them, every one. And He said to them,
Behold my joy is full.

And when He had said these words,
He wept.

And He said unto them,
Behold your little ones,
And they saw the heavens open,
And they saw angels descending out of heaven,
And they were encircled about with re.

Gloria in excelsis Deo,
(Glory to God in the Highest.)
Gloria in excelsis Deo,
Gloria in excelsis Deo,
Gloria!

And the multitude did see
And hear and bear record;
And they know that their record is true,
For all of them did see and hear,
Every man, every woman, every child for himself.

10. One Fold, One Shepherd
3 Nephi 15:21, 30

One by one we kissed His feet.
We all felt repentance sweet.
And when we called on His name, He came.
And we testify He’ll come again.

Other sheep I have
Which are not of this fold.
Them also I must bring,
And they shall hear my voice,
As in days of old,
And there will be

One Fold, one Shepherd,
One King of Israel.
One God, one people,
One Jesus Christ.

Turn from all your wicked ways.
Trust in God and sing His praise!
Be baptized, and you’ll see you’re free,
Then prepare, prepare, for He will come again.

Other sheep I have
Which are not of this fold.
Them also I must bring,
And they shall hear my voice,
As in days of old,
And there will be

One Fold, one Shepherd,
One King of Israel.
One God, one people,
One Jesus Christ.

Gather from the west and east,
Gather to the Savior’s feast.
Black and white, bond and free,
Male and female to the tree!
Love your God with all your heart,
Love all men and do your part to
Gather all the Father’s sheep,
Then righteousness will surely sweep the earth!

Sound the trumpet and the horn!
Come to Christ and be reborn!
Let the Spirit end all strife
And fill your life with joy
And truth and faith and hope
And peace and light and love!

And when His sheep are gathered in,
When the world is cleansed of sin,
When the King of Kings returns,
There will be

One Fold, one Shepherd,
One King of Israel.
One God, one people,
One Jesus Christ.

Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna!
Amen, amen, and amen!
